Back in the days, ABS-CBN had ‘Magandang Tanghali Bayan’ instead of ‘It’s Showtime.’ The noontime variety show featured lots of hosts who were familiar to children born in the 90s, such as Randy Santiago, John Estrada, Willie Revillame, Amy Perez, Roderick Paulate, Ai Ai Delas Alas, and Edu Manzano, among others.

It was fondly known as ‘MTB’ back then and one of its segments was the ‘Munting Miss U’ contest, where actress-comedienne Kiray Celis appeared and got her break.

Kiray won the contest at the age of four and since then, have become a mainstay in the variety show as its youngest member. She also appeared in the movie version of ‘Pera o Bayong (not da TV)’ with the entire cast of ‘MTB.’

In 2005, children’s gag show ‘Goin’ Bulilit’ recruited the actress as part of the program and four years after, she “graduated” from the show.

She moved on to television series and appeared in ‘Kampanerang Kuba,’ in two ‘Komiks Presents’ shows, in ‘Kokey @ Ako, and in three episodes of ‘Maalaala Mo Kaya.’

In 2010, she appeared in the reprised version of ‘Mara Clara’ alongside Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Montes, where she played the role of Desiree, one of Clara’s friends.

After that, Kiray appeared in another youth-oriented program in 2011, ‘Growing Up.’ She also worked with Kathryn and Julia during this stint.

Her most recent appearances in television include the Sunday afternoon series ‘Luv U,’ where she played the role of Whitney Muñoz, and in ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,’ where she briefly appeared as Mitch.

Apart from her distinguishable height, Kiray is also known for the men who have been linked to her, with Enchong Dee as the most recent one.
